Bush behind the scenes !!!
peepeey Tom - the plaid Adder
This has been making the rounds for a while, but I finally got a chance to watch the whole thing:
Prepping Bush for his 'beginning of the war' speech
This guy does great animations which have cheered me up many a time, although I find the color scheme on the site itself sort of distracting. For some reason, Greek TV picked up 5 minutes of video *before* the official start of the speech, and released them into the wild, where they found a home on the Internet. There's nothing particularly earth-shattering; it's not like they caught him saying "I hope they fall for my little trap, moohoohahaha." But I found it chilling nonetheless.
During most of the video, Bush is practicing his speech while his handlers fuss around him, spraying his hair perfectly into place, brushing his jacket, and so on. Something about the disconnect between him and his environment is unsettling to me; he's off in his own little world, staring into space and mouthing the words he's about to say, oblivious to everything else. He has clearly memorized a fair chunk of the speech, complete with gestures, and plans to repeat it exactly the way he's running through it. When he's not practicing, he looks uncomfortable; nervous, fidgety, and occasionally irritable. Everyone around him, meanwhile, seems to be treating him like a prop or a mannequin; nobody makes eye contact with him, and the chick who's shellacking his coif handles it like it's a wig on a block.
This is leadership in the 21st century. I kinda wish I hadn't looked behind the curtain; but somehow you can't help it.
Ohhkay Bah !
